In todays media lesson I did more work on horror genre trailer 'The Ward', I analysed it further making sure I mentioned about the soundtrack and how it adds tension and builds up. Not only this, but I also talked about how fast paced the shots were in order to get the viewers to keep watching and to make them want to know what happens in between the clips of the trailer we see.

In todays lesson we have finally chosen to do the genre 'horror', however, we are unsure on which type of horror we will do. The type of genres under horror that we are starting to look at are thriller, suspense and mystery. Today we have started to look at a variety of different trailers and then analyse them, so far I have found a few trailers but I still need begin to analyse them in plenty of detail.

What makes a horror trailer?

I think that some of the main aspects that a horror trailer needs in order to make it the potentially best are the following:

• Build up
• Specific scenes of dialogue
• Text
• A good/spooky variety of sounds
• A killer/murderer
• A main character
• An innocent character
• A twist
• White flash
• Black outs
• Fade out
• Spooky set
